when to use - PRE-CALVING & POST-CALVING

Pre- and post-calving doses work together to support a healthy and balanced reproBIOME™ throughout the transition period. Pre-calving administration allows probiotics time to engraft and helps prepare and protect the reproductive tract for calving, while post-calving administration helps repair, restore, and rebalance the reproBIOME™ following calving.

At dry-off & close-up

For: Adult cows.
Instructions: Administer two doses (20 mL) of FreshStart™ at dry-off, then administer one more dose (20 mL) 1-3 weeks prior to the expected calving date. After calving, administer a double dose (20 mL) to cows and first-calf heifers right before leaving the fresh pen (preferably after a 7-10 day waiting period after calving).
This option may be coordinated with existing dry-off and close-up protocols.

Directions for Use	FreshStart™ is for use only in healthy cattle by topical intravaginal administration. Restrain cattle appropriately for administration. Use of disposable gloves is recommended. Ensure administration area is clean. Place bayonet-twist cartridge into dosing gun. Remove cartridge cap and secure the clear applicator extension tube to the end of cartridge. Clean and dry the extension tube with an antiseptic wipe. Use appropriate lubricant on the extension tube if needed. Gently pass extension tube tip past the vulva and insert approximately 6-9 inches (near the junction of the flexible part of the applicator extension tube). Administer 1-full trigger and slowly withdraw. Clean surface of the applicator extension tube in-between administrations.
Dosage Rate	Only use the Healthy Cow dosing gun. One full pull (1-click) of the trigger delivers the correct 10mL FreshStart™ gel. Make sure the stop screw is set at 10mL on the dosing gun. To ensure an adequate first dose, squeeze the trigger (to prime) until the gel appears at the tip of the extension tube. To store, clean the extension applicator tube and replace the cap on the cartridge. See Storage directions.
Storage	Keep cool or store at controlled room temperature 20^o - 25^oC (68^o - 77^oF). DO NOT FREEZE.


Description	FreshStart™ is powered by the ReproBiome™ Consortium—a proprietary consortium of carefully selected, naturally derived, Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) lactic acid bacteria designed to support, restore, and maintain a healthy bovine reproductive microbiome before and after calving. Each 20 cc (20 mL) application delivers a minimum of 9 billion CFU of naturally derived, Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) microorganisms.  The formulation includes essential prebiotics to support optimal post-administration engraftment, retention, performance, and safety. Lactobacilli present in the vaginal microflora of healthy cows are considered a primary microbiological barrier that supports a stable and resilient reproductive environment.
Directions for Use	FreshStart™ is for use only in healthy cattle by topical intravaginal administration. Restrain animal appropriately prior to application. Use of disposable gloves is recommended. Ensure the administration area is clean. Insert the bayonet-twist cartridge into the dosing gun. Remove the cartridge cap and securely attach the applicator extension tube. Clean and dry the extension tube using an antiseptic wipe prior to use. Apply lubricant to the extension tip if needed. Prime the applicator by dispensing gel until visible at the tip. Gently pass the extension tip past the vulva and insert approximately 6–9 inches (15–23 cm) into the vaginal tract. Administer a 20 mL dose and slowly withdraw the applicator. Clean the surface of the applicator extension between animals using an appropriate disinfectant (e.g., bleach or hydrogen peroxide wipe).
Dosage and Administration	Administer 20 mL (20 cc) of FreshStart™ intravaginally per animal at each of the following timepoints: • At dry-off (approximately 60 days prior to calving) • During the close-up period (approximately 14–21 days prior to calving) • At 10 days or later post-calving Total volume per animal per lactation cycle: 60 mL (3 × 20 mL doses). Contact Healthy Cow for guidance on alternative administration protocols.
Ingredients	Non-GMO soybean oil, corn starch, silicon dioxide, FOS (dried chicory root), sucrose, maltodextrin, lyophilized ReproBiome™ Consortium (a proprietary consortium of GRAS lactic acid bacteria in a lyophilized fermentation product).  Microbial strains registered with the National Collection of Industrial Bacteria (NCIB 11181).
Withdrawal Period	No pre-slaughter withdrawal interval or milk discard time is required when used according to label directions.
Storage	Store at controlled room temperature, 20°–25°C (68°–77°F). Keep cool. Do not freeze.
Regulatory	FreshStart™ is not a drug, medical device, or vaccine. This product contains ingredients that are Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) and is intended for topical intravaginal use in healthy cattle. The bovine vaginal epithelium functions as a natural physical barrier to the external environment. FreshStart™ is not subject to Pasteurized Milk Ordinance Item 15r requirements, as it is not classified as a drug, cleanser, or sanitizer, and does not require segregation between lactating and non-lactating animals.
